Going Green
After completing a massive project for the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) in 2009, we created a couple of other modules and revised some existing manuals in 2010. The union had asked us to investigate the topic of green chemistry as well as the field of so-called green jobs. We created units on each of those topics and then incorporated them into the 500-plus page 40-hour hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) training manual, which we had completed the year before. Those two units were also added into the union's 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher manual.
