Tue Apr 17 2007

Dr. Debbie Denise Reese, senior educational researcher at the Center for Educational Technologies®, has been nominated by the National Science Foundation's Science of Learning Centers program to join one of its evaluation teams.

Reese will be part of a 7-9 member team that will evaluate the University of Washington Science of Learning Center's Learning in Informal and Formal Environments program, which is funded for $5 million by the National Science Foundation. The site visit will take place May 20-22. The team will evaluate the progress the center is making.

Reese is currently leading the Center for Educational Technologies' NASA-funded research into the effective design of videogames to teach science concepts.

The Science of Learning Center program supports large-scale multidisciplinary centers covering many aspects of research in science of learning.
