Robotics Workshop Set for Wheeling Jesuit

The Center for Educational Technologies® will host a workshop Sept. 5 to introduce educators and youth group leaders to LEGO® robotics.
The free workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the center. The workshop is sponsored by the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium. To register, call Meri Cummings at 304-243-2499 or e-mail meri@cet.edu.
Educators will learn to program and build robots and robot arms to help the educators feel comfortable leading robotics activities with students. Participants will also be introduced to the new FIRST LEGO League Smart Move! transportation research and robotics challenges. The Center for Educational Technologies will host the statewide West Virginia FIRST LEGO League tournament Dec. 19 on the Wheeling Jesuit University campus.
Another workshop is set for Nov. 19-21 at the West Virginia Science Teachers Association conference at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels. An additional LEGO robotics workshop may be requested for a group of 10 or more educators, parents, or youth group leaders.
