Tue Jul 19 2011

Dr. Debbie Piecka, educational researcher at the Center for Educational Technologies, has had two pieces of research published recently.

She was lead author of "Self-discovery Learning Opportunities in NASATalk," a chapter in Constructing Self-discovery Learning Spaces Online: Scaffolding and Decision-making Technologies in press by IGI Global. That research focuses on the NASATalk web collaborative created and maintained by the Classroom of the Future. Coauthors include Dr. Laurie Ruberg, associate director of the Center for Educational Technologies, and Chris Ruckman, computer programmer at the center.

Piecka also presented a paper, Show and Tell: Kindergartner's Meaning Making with Interactive Videoconferencing, at the annual meeting of the International Society for Technology in Education on June 29 in Philadelphia.
