Astronomy Village: Investigating the Solar System®

Has Mars always been dry? Does Pluto have craters or quakes? How do astronomers use infrared-color composite images to identify plant life on Earth?

In Astronomy Village: Investigating the Solar System® students investigate these and other questions. It's all part of a trip they take to a virtual village that lets them explore our solar system. There they work alongside fellow "scientists" to learn to use appropriate technology to acquire, explore, and analyze useful data and images.

This CD-ROM motivates students through inquiry. Students learn astronomy's fundamental concepts, methodology, and terminology. Through seven focused investigations in two core research projects, they learn the scientific process.
