Awards

The Selene videogame gathered another major award in 2011. For the second time since 2008, Selene won the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Design and Development Best Practice Award. The 2008 award honored the first version of the game; the 2011 honor recognized the newer Selene II that debuted in 2010. The award recognizes "those individuals or groups that have designed exemplary instructional materials or systems," according to AECT.

Since it was created in 2007 to help us study the best way to teach NASA science through videogames, the Selene videogame has been honored a number of times for its approach to educating players about how our Moon was formed.
