A Resource for Students and Faculty

Our place on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University creates opportunities for our staff, for university students, and for university faculty. Our staff have access to experts in various disciplines from the faculty, and the faculty is able to turn to our educational expertise as well. Perhaps one of the greatest benefits is to students, who get the opportunity to help us in our research for the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and NASA.

Many of our staff also provide services to WJU. Associate director Dr. Laurie Ruberg teaches an online education course each semester. Video manager Don Watson teaches a variety of classes in the Communications Department and oversees the university's CardinalCast productions of sporting events both online and for local cable TV. Our video production facilities and studio give students hands-on experience in broadcasting under Watson's supervision. Those students are also getting work with the new NASA DLiNfo Channel, which is managed through the NASA-sponsored Classroom of the Future program. Curriculum writer Tamie Shiplett taught an education course during the fall.
